NYC Bound: Flying out of a winter wonderland

The first trip of 2025

Idaho

Hi

Craig is kicking off our travel adventures for the year with a trip to one of our favorite cities—New York City! He’s flying out of a snow-blanketed Raleigh this morning after last night’s rare and magical snowfall—our first in a couple of years. The girls are thrilled to have a snow day off from school, and Peach, our curious little furball, has been glued to the window, wide-eyed at her first real snowfall. It’s as if she’s trying to figure out who covered the world in all that fluffy white stuff.

Now, back to NYC. Each January, we head to the Big Apple for an essential travel industry event. It’s a time for important meetings, inspiring social events, and catching up with our longtime travel blogging friends and colleagues.

When Craig isn’t busy networking, he’ll carve out time to rediscover some of New York’s charm. This trip, he’s staying in Greenwich Village, one of our favorite neighborhoods, known for its artistic vibe, cozy coffee shops, and historic charm. He’s already on the hunt for new spots to share with you, so be sure to follow along on Instagram for updates, including snowy scenes from Raleigh in our stories!

Fun fact: It’s colder here in Raleigh than in New York right now—a rare twist!

New York is a frequent—and much-loved—destination for us. It’s a city that never stops inspiring with its endless energy, iconic landmarks, and hidden gems waiting to be uncovered. If you’re dreaming of a trip to NYC, don’t miss some of our favorite NYC travel tips and guides linked below.

Here’s to a year of adventures, big and small, that inspire us to see the world—and our own backyards—with fresh eyes.

With warmth,
Caroline
